How To Make A Simple Grilled Tilapia Recipe
- Prep Tilapia by removing its scales and other unwanted parts(such as the fins). Wash the tilapia with warm water and salt to get rid of its slightly slimy texture. Then, proceed to make small cuts on the body and sides of the tilapia.
- Create a seasoning paste by blending together the garlic, ginger, onion, pepper, mixed powdered natural spice(optional) and seasoning cube(optional). Add a reasonable amount of Ava coconut oil to the ingredients and blend.
- Rub the blended paste onto the tilapia, ensuring that the tilapia is well coated with the paste on every corner of it. Leave the coated tilapia for about 10-20 minutes in order to marinate well.
- Grill the marinated tilapia using an oven or a grill machine. (can also be done locally using charcoal).
- While grilling, keep turning the tilapia side to side to ensure that it gets well grilled. (note: to prevent the tilapia from getting burnt or getting stuck on the grill, keep glazing with oil-ava coconut oil anytime the tilapia is turned on the grill).
- After about 15-20 minutes of repeating the grilling processs, the tilapia should be ready for consumption.
NOTE; Can be served with banku, fried yam, jollof rice with hot sauces, and many more.
